TOURIST TRAFFIC!
ENCOURAGED IN CANADA. GOVERNMENT’S ENTERPRISE. (Reuter’s Special Service.) OTTAWA, November 30. Canada’s tourist traffic has become so important that the individual merchant or hotelkeeper who jeopardises it by discourteous treatment or disproportionate price charges to visitors should be summarily punished, in the opinion of Dr. Manion, Minister of Railways. . He made this statement at a recent convention here at which Government officials conferred with representatives of the Canadian Association of Tourist and Publicity Bureaux, members of the Senate’s permanent tourist committee, and representatives oi Canadian railways. , . . Canada hopes that many visitors from Empire countries will come to the Dominion next year.
