GISBORNE'S EXPERIENCE. 2IN. OF RAIN IN ij HOURS. (By Telegraph.—Tress Association.) GISBORNE, Monday. A tropical deluge was exprrienred at Gisborne late on .Saturday afternoon. It was one of the most severe ever known. Nearly two inches of rain fell within a hour and a-lialf, practically nil coming down within lhe first half-hour. The. downpour was confined almost entirely !o I lie town, and a small fringe outside 'the borough area. Two aeroplanes arrived from Ihe south during the height of the storm, and had to fly very low because of bad visibility.
