HAMILTON EAST PLAY. COMPETITION MATCHEB. There was a good entry of rinks in the Hamilton East 'Club’s Christmas Cake competition on Saturday the trophies being cakes presented by Mr •J. Hawlinson. Three games of nine heads were played, Lymburn’s rink, Stuart, Kingston, Tyler and Lymburn (s) leading at the conclusion of play with three wins. The runners-up were Mitchell, Coe, Cooney and Karton (s) with two wins. Results were as follows: — First Round.—Stuart, Kingston, Tyler, Lymburn (s) 9 v. Forsyth, Davis, Coombes, Robertson (s) 8. 'Progressive pairs were played during the week-end for Christmas turkeys. The competition was decided over live games of nine heads Tyler and Jordan leading in the skips’ division with five wins-; and Coe and ■Kingston winning the leads’ section, also with live wins.

CLAUDELANDB CLUB. MATTHEWS FERNS MATCH. The Ciaudelands greens were again in good order for Saturday’s play and there were some interesting games.
