DEATH AT 102.

NELSON CENTENARIAN. MR JOHN COLTHHART. (By Tclegrapt.. -rrpss Association.) NELSON, Saturday. A well-known centenarian- of the Nelson district, Mr John Colthliart, died to-day in his 102nd year. Born in Lanarkshire in 1833, Mr ■Colthhart came to New Zealand In 1861, and took part in the- Gabliel’s Gully gold rush at Lawrence. Later he joined the Post and Telegraph Department and was stationed on the’ West Coast, and In Nelson and Taranaki. He engaged in the Maori Wars with the Wanganui Rangers. He had recently lived In retirement with his daughter, Mrs Gamhoni, in Nelson.
