SAAR PLEBISCITE

INTERNATIONAL FORCE. PORTION AT SAARBRUCKEN. PREPARING FOR THE POLL. (Official Wireless.) (Received Dec. 15, 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, Dec. 14. The commanders of the Netherlands and Swedish contingents, General Baron Van Vost Tot Voord and Colonel Roolossem reached the Saar territory yesterday and immediately made contact -with the staff officers in the British advance party. The Italian contingent will be under the command of Brigadier-General Visconti Prasca, and will consist of two battalion's of grenadiers and one of some other regiment. Mr Geoffrey Knox, president of the Saar Governing Commission, also arrived at Saarhruoken yesterday and arrangements are proceeding, between him and the - officers of the force for the disposal of the troops throughout the area. Correspondents in the Saar state that the crowds are displaying a friendly interest in the parties of international forces who are engaged in billeting and other arrangements. The British contingent will be accompanied to the territory by their battalions’ bands and colours.
