OPERATIONS EXTENDED. AUSTRIANS FOR BERLIN. (Received Dec. 14, 2.30 p.m.) VIENNA, Dec. 13. The opera war has extended. Herr Felix Weingartner succeeds Dr. Krauss as director of the Vienna State Opera. Several Viennese opera singers,' whose homes, the police searched owing to their being suspected of Naziism’, are resigning and are going to the Berlin State Opera.
Dr. Krauss’ acceptance of General Goering’s invitation to succeed Dr. Furtwangler is greatly resented •In Vienna.
German secret police 'have confiscated Dr. Furtwangler’s and Dr. Kluber’s passports to prevent them going abroad.
