Lord and Lady Bledlsloe, who will leave Wellington for Auckland on Friday, December 21, will go Into iesidence there for some weeks. The Duke of Gloucester will, stay at Government House during/ his visit to Auckland, arriving there on Christmas Eve. ! 1

Sir Cyril Ward has been elected captain of the Christchurch Golf Club for the fifth successive term.

The Rev. C. W. Chandler, the vicarelect of Cambridge, will arrive from England on Tuesday and will he inducted by the Bishop of Waikato on Thursday evening.

Constable R. E. Kennedy, formerly of Timani, who has been transferred to Hamilton, arrived 10-da.v. Constable T. Harris, whom be replaces, will leave on Tuesday on transfer to Ulahuhu.

Sympathy with the secretary or the Hamilton School Denial Clinics Committee, Mr 11. W. Fisher, in his continued ill-health, was expressed by speakers at the bi-annual meeting of of the committee last evening, and a motion on those lines was passed.

The Rev. D. R. Hay, vicar of Little River, has been appointed to succeed the Rev. F. A. Tooley as vicar of Wool* slon. The change will take place at tile end of January. Mr Tooley resigned because of indifferent health.

Lord Baden-Powell, the Chief Scout, and Lady Baden-Powell, who are en route to Melbourne, arrived at Darwin yesterday. They witnessed a demonstration by aborigines which was staged in their honour.. The Chief Scout is due at Auckland on February 3.
