WOMEN’S INSTITUTES.

AT WAITERIMU-MATAHURU.' The monthly meeting was 'held In the golf club-house on the sth Inst., and was well, attended. The vicepresident, Mrs Claude Storey, was In the chair. The roll call, “Uses of a Lemon,’’ brought forth some very useful recipes and remedies. Mrs S. W. lies gave a travel talk and handed round views of some of the places she visited when abroad. A competition, jumbled names of cars, was won by Miss Newton. The hostesses, Mesdames J. Waugh and J- Crosible handed round luncheon. The meeting was brought to a close with the National Anthem. AT IWATAMATA. The December meeting of the Matamata branch was held on Tuesday, Mrs H. E. Schofield presiding over an attendance of 50 members and friends. Mesdames 'F. Watson and McNaul and Misses N. Jones, Wallace and L. Gallagher, of the Walton branch, presented a short playette, which was much appreciated. Airs W. S. Wilson ■gave a very interesting discourse' on her trip to the centenary celebrations in Melbourne, tine! community singing made up the r&st of the programme. The committee acted as hostesses and served a very delectable afternoon tea.
