RELIEF FOR MAORIS.
DISCRIMINATION IN ALLOCATION. HOSPITAL BOARD’S PROTEST. The secretary of the Waikato Hospital Board reported at the monthly meeting of the board that he had forwarded the letter protesting against any discrimination being made in the allocation and rate of relief pay to Europeans and Maori relief workers
to the Minister of Health, as directed by the Board at its last meeting. A reply had been received from the Minister stating that the matter is being taken up with the Unemployment Board, with the request that it give careful consideration to the views expressed by the board. The letter was received.
