PRODUCE AND CEREALS. LITTLE ALTERATION IN VALUES THE LATEST QUOTATIONS. With a steady demand ruling for most classes of fruit and produoe* there has .been little alteration in values on the Hamilton markets this week. Seasonable fruits are selling well at prices on a par with late rates. The ruling rates are cited as follows —Apples: Dougherty, 5s to 5s Gd; Sturmers, best 5s Gd to Gs Gd, others 3s to 4s; Delicious, best 5s to Gs, others 2s Gd to ss; Borne Beauty, best coloured to 8s 9d, others 6s to 7s. Pears: Coles and Nelis, 7s 6d to 10s. Lemons, first grade 11s to 12s 9d, seconds 7s to 8s; grape fruit, best to 14s per bushel, others 6s to 9s bushed; Jamaican oranges, 35s to 40s case according to count; bananas, ripe ‘~4s to 25s case; apricots, 4s to 7s; strawberries, 9d to Is per chip. Plums: Sharp’s Early, 5s to 7s; cherry, 3s to 4s; Evans’ Early, 3s to ss.

Values for Vegetables. Vegetables are coming forward freely, and are clearing readily at rates up to last week’s figures. The latest quotations are as follows: — Lettuces, up to G.s banana case; rhubarb, Is 6d to 2s 6d 'dozen; kumeras, 14s to 15s cwt; green peas, 3s to 4s Gd sugar bag; beans, 4d lb; potatoes, £7 10s. Produce and- Cereals. Prices for grain and produce are fairly steady. Maize is making 4s 6d a bushel, while wheat is firm at 6s, oats are making 4s and 4s 3d, and barley 4s 3d. Pollard is selling at 7s 9d per 1001 b, but a rise is possible in the near future. Bran is steady at 7s 6d, while mixed gain is retailing at 4s 9d. Chaff is also up to £8 10s a ton. Eggs, Butter and Fish. Eggs are still in shorter supply, and are selling at Is 2d a dozen. Butter is unchanged at Is for first grade, lid for second grade and lOd for separator.

Most varieties of fish are in good supply, with prices on a par with late rates.
