WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
AT MORRINSVILLE. The monthly meeting of the Morrinsvillc Women’s Institute was held on the 12th inst. A fair number were present, including visitors from Opotiki. in the absence of the president, (Mrs Welch), Mrs Simson took the chair.
The motto for the evening was, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness." The roll call was, “Why I joined the Institute,” and many amusing reasons were given.
Letters from the secretary of the Borthwiek (Scotland) institute were read, staling I hoy were pleased a link had been forged between Ihe two Institutes. Although so far apart, the ideas and interest, were the same.
Miss Galpin (Government dental nurse) gave a talk on the care of the teeth which was instructive and interesting.
Miss Galpin gained highest points for her vase of pink japonica (compaction). Mrs Harden coming second with a vase of red ranunculus. Mrs Bosworth entertained the meeting with short humorous slories The hostesses were Mcsdamcs Brodie, Grower, Harden and Hamilton.
