The action of Mr Lawry, S.M., of Christchurch, in discharging relief workers who were proceeded against by the Unemployment Board for the restitution of a sum of money, met with the entire agreement of the Unemployment Board itself, according to a statement. When previous reference was made lo the case during April the board took steps immediately to ensme that there be no repetition of such procedure. It was stated that, the only cases, to-day where, as a penally for misrepresentation, the board reduces workers’ classification, are when such action is taken as an alternative to bringing a case before the Court.
