PUKEKOHE TO-MORROW. FINE FIELDS ENGAGED. THE PROSPECTS REVIEWED. Fine fields are engaged for the extra meeting of the Franklin Racing Club at Pukekohe to-morrow and with fine weather the club should experience a most successful gathering. Indications are for a holding track, but as the majority of those engaged are capable performers under winter conditions some fine racing should result. Following are the fields with a review of the prospects by ‘.Martian'' : 11.45

'Havering made a promising debut "in his first out over hurdles at the recent Waipa meeting and any improvement on that effort would suggest that he will be the hardest to dispose of. Cruachan and Prince of Orange are a Te Rapa pair not without prospects in the class, although their form of late has been somewhat disappointing. If right on the day Snow Prince and Mia Stella will have to be seriously reckoned with, especially the latter, who is repprted to be in excellent fettle for. his engagement to-morrow. Carlaris is a consistent customer and Ruling King, who scored over a mile and three-quarters at the Ellerslie June fixture, should not be far away at the end. Great Britain is a likely improver but will need to do better to trouble the opposition. An interesting .race should sed ample support forthcoming for • RULING KING HAVERING MIA STELLA 12.27

With several unknown quantities engaged there is every prospect of an "upset being recorded. The lop-weight, Supreme Court, showed out on the first day of the Great Northern.,meeting and on that running has excellent prospects. Supreme Ruler also has useful form to his credit. Anagram will have his chance here to make amends for his failure at the Te Kuiti gathering and as he is looking a picture of condition he may be one of the hardest to head off at the end. The Acre three-year-old, Scotland, has been showing promise In his preparation and a reproduction of his traok work would suggest an excel-lent-chance for the Matamata representative. Another likely improver Is. the Te Rapa maiden, Gay Poto, who has been working along pleasingly of ,! late. In the mediocre company engaged he is not altogether without prospects. Fancies will, no doubt, take a wide range, but when the final figures are hoisted the favourites may be found among— ANAGRAM SUPREME COURT GAY POTO

On the way she won over six furlongs at the Te Kuiti meeting in May Princess Star should lake considerable beating. However, she will have to give of her best to account for several likely sorts down the list, Solarium has been working well at Te Awamutu and Solomon, who appears to be on the improve, should give a good account of himself in tho class. D'Artagnan is a possibility and Monnnui, on recent Ellerslie running, will need to be considered in the summing up. Lagoon and Royal Gallant arc a likely pair, who will need only to give of their best, to be In it at the end, while Record Flight, Loombinaflon My Money and Solo Song are handily weighted to make their presence fell. The last-named won on the course at Ihe last Franklin annual. Teddy's Boy has also won on Ihe track nml is a possibility'on the minimum. The public mav show preference for— SOLARIUM MONANUI ROYAL GALLANT 1.52 PRESIDENT'S HANDICAP. Of £ I ao; miles.si. lb. st. 111. Puss Moth . 9 0 Fly. Prince 7 i Desert Star . 7 f- Royal Caliant 7 0 Mungatoon . 7 r> Tannin . . 7 i) Versant ..75 Prolyxo ..70 An interesting field has come forward for the chief fiat race of the programme. The Cornwall running of Puss Moth demonstrated that a mile and a quarter is by no means beyond him and ns his record of laic has been a model of consistency lie will appeal over the majority. Desert Star ita-s done little of recent dale to commend his prospects. Mungatoon finished fourth in Ihe Cornwall Handicap and will he meeting the top-weight on much better terms on Ibis occasion. At the weights be may prove bard to dispose of. Versant claims a dual pngagemeul and as lie lias proved himself over Ihe distance be will md lack support if reserved lor here.! Lillie is known of Hie present condition of Flying Prince, alllumgli be will need |o show improvement I i | trouble Hie opposition. Royal liallant j and Prolyxo also claim a furlher on- ' cagonient, bill if produced arc not al- j iogeiher out of it on Cue minimum j The latter showed promise in her lasi j outing al Te Awanmlu. The big event on the card should ensure a fine contest. Snow Prince, Mia Stella, Carlaris, St. Ames and Diversion are also entered for the Hurdles, but if Marled over country arc not without prospects. Imperial Prince was a failure at Trenthani, hut on tlie way he scored at Ellerslie ne is capable of better things, although it wit be against him that lie will he having his first experience of steeplechase fences. Town Beauty has been performing well in his trials and Wiltshire demonstrated at Te Awamutu that tie is by no means a spent light. Carlaris is a distinct possibility and St. Warrigal is capable of improvement on Waipa running when he finished second to Wiltshire. Golden Wedding’s experience in the hunting field will stand him in good stead and on the way he has been schooling of late he should give a solid account of himself. Solanio is a possibility and Luminary and Ruby Meteor are the pick of the remainder in a good betting race in which the favourites may be— ST. WARRIGAL WILTSHIRE CARLARIS

In the large field engaged the draw for positions may have an important bearing on the final issue. A number claim prior engagements and it is probable that the field will be reduced by scratchings. The six at the top of the list are entered earlier in the day and their prospects here can be gauged on their former showing. Tin Lap is a handy sort when right and was in the money at the recent Te Awamutu gathering. Bcllkyrian, Mungacre and Ballymoney are _ possibilities and Solo Song has previously shown her partiality for the Franklin course. If fit Prince Acre would not be out of it and Engl, who won well on the first day of tiie Te Kuiti meeting should be capable of a forward effort to-morrow. Of the others, Teddy’s Boy may appeal most. The public may sum up for— RECORD FLIGHT ENGL SOLO SONG

Despite his failures at Trenthamtho slashing victories at Ellerslle of Greek Gold would indicate that the opposition will have to give of their best to lower his colours. British Columbia and Imamint are a capable pair and the consistent Versant is nicely weighted and will he suited by the distance. On form what beats him should win. Gay Seton has been off the scene for a spell, his last appearance being at Wanganui in May, when lie won on either day of the meeting, lie lias been working along satisfactorily at To Rapa and will need only to reproduce Wanganui form to take considerable beating. Knrangapai will need to improve on recent efforts to be in it. Jalldy Karo, Lagoon and Bugle Call appeal most of those further down the list. In a spirited race major support may be extended (in the absence of Versant) to— GAY SETON GREEK GOLD LAGOON RIDING ENGAGEMENTS. Riding engagements at the meeting include: — T.
