BRUNTWOOD DAIRY COMPANY.
ELECTION OF DIRECTORS. Nominations have closed for th» three vacancies on the directorate of the Bruntwood Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, caused by the assignation of Mr. J. W. Bartlett and the retirement by rotation of Messrs. W. N. Perry and J. C. Wallace. Five nominations have been receivedr They are Messrs. W. N. Perry, J. C. Wallace, C. Charlton, S. R. Hinton and A. S. Preece. Presentation to Director. After sixteen years’ association with the Bruntwood Co-operatlvve Dairy Company, Mr. John W. Bartlett has resigned, owing to his leaving the district to live in Hamilton, and at the meeting of the company's directors a -presentation was made to him. BADMINTON. ST. ANDREW’S CLUB FINALS. At the finals of the St. Andrew’s Badminton Club championships some keenly-contested matches were witnessed. Results were as follows: A grade ladies’ doubles: Misses N. Armstrong and J. Hulme beat Mesdarnes Willis and Hollis, 15—18, 15—8. B grade ladies’ doubles: Mrs. Hollis and Miss Ensor beat Misses W. Hulme and E. Oddy, 15—8, 15—6. A grade men's doubles: Neely and Nicholson beat Haworth and Simpson, 15—it, 15—14. B grade men’s doubles: Weatherell and Nicholson beat Hollis and Morrison, 2 —15, 15 —8, 15—11. Combined doubles: Miss N. Armstrong and Neely beat Miss B. Cubis and J.J Brett. At the close of the games supper was served, during which Mr. H. E. Amyes, on behalf of’the club,'thanked the donors of prizes and all, who had helped the club during the season. ORPHANS’ CLUB. VISIT FROM TE AWAMUTU. The monthly meeting of the Cambridge Orphans’ Club was held on Wednesday evening, when a visit was received from the Te Awamutu club. The vice-president, Mr. C. Watt took the chair. The chairman expressed appreciation of the visit and thanked the Te Awamutu orchestra, under Mr. Close, for making the trip. Messrs. Ridell and A. Reece returned thanks and invited the Cambridge Club to pay a visit on August 11. An innovation in programme was an impromptu choir contest.
The programme was as follows: — Selections, the Te Awamutu club’s orchestra; songs, Messrs. Ron Easter, G. James, W. Lane, ami P. JRandle; humour, Mr. Bert Hey (Te Awamutu), and Mr. C. Andrew; saxophone solos, Mr. Batson (Te Awamutu).
