COMING-OF-AGE DANCE.

FUNCTION AT WAIHOU. A very enjoyable dance was held in the Waihou Hall to celebrate the coming-of-age of Mr John Borne. Music for the dancing was provided by Devev's Ambassadors’ Orchestra from Te Aroha, while extras were played by Mrs G. Hammond, and Messrs. J. Donovan, R. Baker and R. Pentecost. The hail had been decorated attractively with festoons o-f red and black streamers. Mr D. F. Borrie presented a key to his son and congratulated him on attaining his majority. Mr John Borrie suitably replied, thanking the guests for their good wishes and gifts. The duties of M’s.C. were efficiently carried out by Messrs. J. Dixon, P. Cook and E. Markey. Mrs Borrie received the guests wearing a frock of black satin and black fur coat.
