600 EVENING. There was a large attendance at ttie 500 evening held in the Walton [lull by the Campbell Road tennis players and the Wall on Club, lo provide funds for the tennis courts. The winners were:—Ladies, Mrs Itellier: men, J. Mohn. Walton Club w’on by a big majority. GOLF. The new golf links of a new ninehole course was used by the Walton Coif Club for I lie first time. Everyone was delighted with the lay-out, and though the greens are still a bit rough the extra space for putting was greatly appreciated. September 30 is to be the official closing day. Mixed foursomes will be played. PERSONAL. ■Miss Ethel Gillingham, who is studying at the Training Institute, Auckland, is spending a vacation with her parents. Mr Ken Knoobs, a student at the Bible Training Institute, Auckland, is the guest, of Mr and Mrs Mills. Mrs Carter, who has been staying with her brother, Mr Shanahan, has returned home. Mrs MrOtiarlers, from Te Aroha, has returned home after visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs Custom
