MANNEQUIN PARADE.
BEAUTIFUL EVENING GOWNS. The mannequin parade of evening gowns arranged by Miss Smith and held in conjunction with the screening of “The First Mrs Fraser" at the Civic Theatre on Saturday evening was a distinct success. The stage was beautifully decorated with blooms and the first'part of the display was bn a darkened stage with the spot-light concentrated on each individual mannequin as she appeared. The displaying of each frock on a raised dais in the centre of the stage and the walking forward of the mannequins on a specially prepared platform which extended into the auditorium, gave the audience a splendid opportunity of appreciating the beautiful lines of the gowns. After each frock had been shown, the mannequins formed a pretty tableau on the stage in a blaze of light. The announcing and describing of the frocks was done by the theatre manager, Mr W. 11. Johnston, and rounds of applause greeted the appearance of each mannequin. At the request of numerous patrons the management has arranged to restage next Saturday night <?he beautiful bridal display which was commented upon so favourably last Wednesday.
