LONDON MARKETS. - HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CADLE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated September’ 16, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Tallow. —Market quiet; fair demand at auction 856 casks offered, of which 277 sold at decline of sixpence. Present spot quotations are:—Mutton: Fine, 24s 6d; fair to good, 20s to 23s 6d; dark to dull, 18s 6d to 19s 6d. Beef: Sweet and/or mixed, 22s Gd to 235; fair to good, 19s to 21s 6d; dark to dull, 18s to 19s. .Mixed: Fair to good, 19s to 21s'. 6d; dark to dull, 18s to 19s; gut, etc., 17s 6d to 19s. Hemp.—Manila: market quiet. “K" grade for September-November shipment quoted sellers, £ls 10s. Sisal: Barely steady. No-. 1 for OctoberDecember shipment sold £l7 15s; No. 2, £l7 7s 6d. New Zealand: Market quiet and values nominally unchanged. Eggs.—Market steady. English, national pack, 13s to 18s 6d; ordinary pack, 14s 6d to 15s; Danish, 10s to 12s; Australian, 11s 6d to 12s. Apples.—Market stronger at about last week’s rates. RANGIRIRI STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report having held their stock sale yesterday when a good yarding of all classes came forward. Beef In many cases was only of second quality, and showed no alteration. Store cattle mostly yearling heifers, found a good sale. Dairy cattle again came forward in large numbers, Including a number of quality heifers; although a fair demand existed many lots were- unsold. For the medium and backward heifers no alteration in prices took place. Quotations: —Medium fat cows and heifers, £3 17s lo £4 ss; lighter fat cows and heifers, £3 to £2 9s; killable, £2 4s to £2 10s; boner cows, 12s to 28s; fresh conditioned cows, 32s Gd to £2 Is; sound empty young cows and two-year heifers, 2Gs to 38s; good quality one-year Jersey heifers, £3 to £3 ss; Jersey and Jersey cross one-year heifers, £2 5s to £2 15s; mixed colour smaller one-year heifers, 25s to 355; Jersey bulls, £3 3s to £6 Gs; Ayrshire bulls, £4 to £4 10s; Friesian bulls, £3 to £5. Dairy cattle: Good quality Jersey heifers, close to profit, £6 15s to £7 7s Gd; good quality Jersey cross heifers, £6 to £6 10s; Jersey and Jersey cross heifers, later calvers, £4 5s to £5; more backward, £2 10s to £3 10s; Jersey heifers, in milk, £4 to £5 10s; sound cows, £4 10s to £6 ss; later calvers, £2 10s to £3 10s.
