UPPER HOUSE REFORM
NEW SOUTH WALES BILL. ROYAL ABBENT EXPECTED. PETITION REGARDED LIGHTLY. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrlgut. (Received Sept. 18, 2.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 18. It is expected in political circles that the Royal assent will be given within a few days to the machinery of the Bill dealing with the Upper House reform. Steps then will be taken to receive nominations for the new chamber. Mr Lang’s petition to the King to refuse assent is not regarded with much seriousness in well-informed quarters.
