WELFARE LEAGUE. At a meeting of delegates from sports bodies and other organisations In the town It was decided to form a Roller Workers’ Welfare League. The following executive was elected to supervise and deal with relief to necessitous cases In the town:—The Mayor (Mr R. Eyre), president; Revs. J. Mears, A. F. Attwood and 11. A. Moore, Mesdames W. M. Patterson, 51. Loughnan, Mr S. C. Read, treasurer, and a representative from the Business People’s Association. At the reciuest of the local relief wnr’--ers the league will take over the bu'ch r’; shop at present under the control uf tue workers. Cricket Club. After being defunct for a year the cricket club has been revived and will carry on Its activities this season. At a meeting of supporters the following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr J. D. Joy; president, Mr R. M. McFarlane; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. Munday; management committee, -Messrs. IT. Morris, D. Jackson and A. Munday; delegate to Waikato Cricket Association, Mr A. Griffiths. The committee has decided to enter a team in the Hamilton senior B grade competition. School Jubilee. Arrangements are being made to celebrate the diamond Jubilee of the public school in November. A “ Back-to-Child-hood” dance will be held in the Town Hail on Friday, November 24, and a reunion and tea will be organised for the following day.
