NATIONAL BULL SALE. OFFERING AT CLAUDELANDS. SATISFACTORY AVERAGE REALISED The eleventh National Jersey show and sale was concluded at Claudelands yesterday, the disposal of the regaining bulls completing; a successful event. There was a rair attendance of buyers and breeders Tor the third day’s offering-, but competition was not as keen as on the first two days, and prices were lower. The best price yesterday was 37$ guineas paid by Mr F. Vosper, of Matamata, ror Blythewood Aeneas (August 28, 1932), offered on account or Mr J. A. Russell, or Palmerston North, while Mr W. Rea, of Waihl, gave 34 guineas for Velebit Commonsense (August 4, 1932) sold on' account or Mr G. Yelchtch, of YVaiuku. During the three days of the sale 163 bulls were sold Tor 430 9$ guineas, or an average of about 26$ guineas. This compares very favourably with the figures of last year’s sale, which occupied only two days. On that occasion 128 hulls changed hands at an average of 34 2-3 guineas. This year’s average Is regarded as very satisfactory. The nrst 50 hulls sold realised an average of 34 guineas, while the first 100 made slightly under 31 guineas. The best price was 135 guineas. Another bull was sold for 101 guineas, while several made over 50 guineas. At the 1932 sale 300 guineas was paid by a Southern buyer for Ivondale McAlister, a four-year-old son of the recordbreaking Woodlands Fellcle.
