Meeting or the Ashburton County Racing Club was held to-day under ideal weather conditions. The course was in good order. The annual meeting of the Thames Jockey Club was held last evening, the President, Mr H. Lowe, presiding. After writing off £313 depreciation the profit and loss acoount disclosed a loss of £3OO as against £9OB last year. Income was shown at £4958 and expenditure £4854 together with a debit balance of £79 brought forward. A third of the club’s income was expended on rating charges. The race meeting account showed a profit of £129. It was pointed out that the present membership, 103, was the highest for many years. The following were elected to fill six vacancies on the committee: — Messrs F. Adamson, 11. IV. Baish, A. Christie, E. J. Glendon, J. 11. Ensor and J. McCormick.
