RUGBY FOOTBALL.
AUCKLAND v. WELLINGTON. UNPRECEDENTED INTEREST.' (Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Saturday. Unprecedented interest in the Auck-land-Wellington Rugby match is being evidenced, and special trains have brought large crowds of enthusiasts, including about 1000 from, Wellington. The weather is fine after a light shower and the prospects are for an excellent game for whioh the teams are unchanged. Wellington’s prospects are viewed favourably, although it, is reoognlsed that the absence of Page is bound to have an effeot. There is keen disappointment all round that Page Is not playing. Mr S. Hollander, formerly of Canterbury, has been selected by Wellington as referee.
PROPOSED OVERSEAB TOURB,
AUCKLAND, Saturday. At the request of the New South Wales Union it was almost certain that a New Zealand team would visit Australia next season on. the occasion of the jubilee of the New South Wales Union, stated Mr S. S. Dean, chairman of the management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union. This would mean that an Australian team would visit New Zealand in 1935. In 1986 the All Blacks would make another mission to England, and he was sure there was the material to provide a team equal to those of 1905 and 1924.
