APPEAL DISMISSED.
HECTOR GRAY’S CABE. TRAINING LICENSE REFUSED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The appeal by H. E. Gray against the decision of the Lioenslng Committee of the New Zealand Raoing Conference in declining to grant him a trainer’s license was to-day dismissed by the conference appeal judges. The appeal judges appointed to hear the appeal were Messrs T. Donnelly (Christchurch), G. Louisson (Palmerston North), and G. G. Russell (Wanganui). Their judgment was as follows: —“After hearing appellant this appeal is dismissed upon the ground that appellant, having been convicted of assault, is a person excluded from all racecourses under regulation 3 (E) of the regulations made and passed by racing clubs under section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908. Appellant has applied to the executive committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference for exemption from the operation 'of such regulations and his application for exemption will come before the committee In October next. If the application for exemption is granted, it will be open to appellant to make a fresh application for a trainer’s license.”
