Prices are nominally 2s 9d , a bushel for feed oats and £6 5s to i £6 10s a ton through store for chaff. Barley.—There is a very small dc- ■ mand. Clipped Is worth from 4s to r 4s 3d a bushel. Bran and Pollard, —The market for bran Is unchanged at £5 15s a l ton through store. A firm position exists in Australian pollard, and importations are limited. The prioe through store Is £6 15s to £7 a ton. New Zealand is worth £6 10 a ton through store. Potatoes.-—Spot stocks are light and it is expected the market will remain firm at current values. Present .prices rule around £5 to £5 10s a ton through store. Onions.—Values are dependent upon quality and range from 9s 6d per cwt upwards. There was an excellent demand for bulls of high butterfat breeding and substantial 1 prices were obtained for the best ; bred lots, 64 bulls of all ages sell- ’ ing for an average of 16gns; 50gns ! was reached under the hammer for ! two lots, Mr R. Waterhouse’s two--1 year-old bull, Coniston More'.’le’s Prince, being purchased by Mr A. F. 1 G. Wilson, Ruawai, North Auckland, * at this price. The six-year-old prize--1 winning bull, Sensation of Tamahere, ■ .offered on account of Mr H. W. Le 1 Bailly, was also purchased at 50 guineas by Mr J. W. Humphreys, Gordonton. This hull was intensely bred to a noted foundation cow in Sweetheart’s Fawn Beauty, the dam of Messrs A. Moreland and 'Sons’ great cow, Flox, which produced 6451 b. fat. An average of just under 33 guineas was secured by Mr C. A. Willis for five head. At the first annual sale of Mr E. D. McLcnnan’s old established Fernaig Jersey Stud conducted in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., at the Homestead, Papakura, 83 head were submitted. Every head was sold under the hammer but as no testing had been carried out it was not expected that high prices would rule. However, buyers were present in strength and 'competition was keen throughout. The 83 iiead averaged 10 guineas, the top price was 36 guineas.
