INTOXICATED MOTORIST.

LICENSE CANCELLED. AUCKLAND, Friday. Robert Rennie, aged 33, a mechanic, pleaded guilty in the Police Court, yesterday, to a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a car. Detective-Sergeant O’Sullivan said the car had first become involved in a slight collision and had then run across the footpath Into a shop window. Accused was intoxicated enough to be arrested on a charge of drunkenness apart from driving the car. Pointing out that accused had 'had two previous convictions for dangerous driving, Mr W. R. McKean, S.M., convicted Rennie and imposed a fine of £ls, in default two months’ imprisonment. His licence was cancelled and he was debarred from obtaining a new one for two years from expiry of the present license year.
