BACK-TO-CHILDHOOD BALL. The back-to-childhood ball, organised by the local Roman Catholic community in the Olorohanga Town Itall on Tuesday evening, avos an unqualified social and financial success. About 300 dancers, many in the garb of their childhood days, took the Hour to the strains of O’Rourke’s orchestra, while there was a full gallery of interested and amused spectators. Mr Potter acted as principal M.G., whilst the decorations and lighting effects Avere superb. The Church funds aaR! hcnetll to the extent of .CIO, the net proceeds.
CROQUET CLUB. At the annual meeting of Ihe Conical Croquet Chit) the balance-sheet disclosed a successful year’s Avorkings. The election of olliecrs resulted: —
Patroness, Mrs W. .T, Broadfoot; president, Mrs W. I. Bowyer; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Sing, Tail (Kio Kio) and Thomson; secretary, Mrs A. Morley; treasurer, Mrs A. T. Cullum; committee, Mesdames Bowyer, Fairbrother, Sing, Cullum, Saunderson and Martin; match committee, Mesdames Sing, Cullum and Bowyer.
Four new members were enrolled, and it was reported that the extensive lawns are in perfect condition for the new season’s play.
