The grain conference to-day heard tn outline of Australia's methods of marketing hy the Minister of Commerce, Mr F. H. Stewart. Mr C. W. Petersen, a Calgary agriculturist, said he could see few new markets within the immediate future, with little prospect of the wheat demand overtaking production. The Orient could not be considered as a new market for many years. Chinese farmers even now were seeking protection against importation, ■ particularly from Australia'and Argentine.
