OFF-WEEK NEXT WEEK. PUBLIC CAN HELP THEM. Next week will be observed as the off-week for relief workers in Hamilton. There are 387 men engaged on relief work in the borough this week, comprising 68 five-day men, 256 three and three-quarter day, 31 two and a-half days, and 32 single men. A six-hour cut is provided for by the allocation. Applications for labour during the off-week can be made at Room 14, in King’s Chambers, from 9 a.m. on Thursday of this week, when there will be an ofllcial in charge continuously. In the meantime all labour requirements can be filled by ringing 1909. There are men available for all classes of work and the public are urged to assist in relieving distress in the town by employing these men whenever and wherever possible.
