SENIOR MAGISTRATE.
MR CUTTEN’S RETIREMENT. SUCCEEDED BY' MB WILSON. AUCKLAND, Saturday. Mr E. 0. Cutten, senior- stipendiary magistrate in Auckland, will retire on superannuation to-day, and will be succeeded by Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., Mr Cutten, who Is on a holiday visit to England, has been a magistrate for more than 26 years. In Auolcland he is especially well known for his interest in the welfare of young people.
Mr Wilson was born In Gisborne in 1876. I-Ie practised as a barrister and solicitor in Auckland, Hawera and Paihiatua, and when -he was only 34 years -of age he was -appointed a magistrate. He was stationed at Nelson, the West Coast, Wanganui, Christchurch and Hamilton.
