CONTROL OF CYCLING.
DIFFICULTIES DISCUSSED. ATTITUDE OF FEDERATION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. The difficulties which have arisen regarding the control of oycling in New Zealand were dlsoussed at a meeting of the New Zealand Cycling Federation. , , • The New Zealand Amateur -Athletic and Cycling Association wrote that the cycling council of the association was dissatisfied with the present method of control, and until a dispensation was received from the Union Cycliste Internationale (Paris) regarding the question of having one body to control amateur and professional cycling the council would undertake no further administration work under the federation. Mr W. J. Walter: “We arc told to get out of the way and let the Cycling Council have full say. It is time we took a stand.” Other members said they would regret to see a split. The meeting passed a resolution that the Federation would not accept the conditions imposed by the Amateur Athletic and Cycling Association for confirmation of affiliation to the Federation, and pointing out that the Federation is the only supreme authority to control cycling in the Dominion.
