The English county matches were continued, with the following results:—
Middlesex v. Lancashire. —Middlesex, first innings 299 (Hendren, not out, 162); second innings 69 (Booth took six wickets for 24). Lancashire, first innings 336 (Watson 138, Iddon 98, Durston took five wickets for 60) ; second innings, one \yicket for 33. Lancashire won by, nine wickets.
Gloucaster v. Surrey.—-Glouces-ter, first innings, 180; second innings, 172 (Brown took seven wickets for 76). Surrey, first innings 228 (Gregory 73, Hammond took six wickets for 68) ; second innings, seven wickets for 125. Surrey won by three wickets.
Hampshire v. Warwick. —Hampshire first innings 151 (Mayer took six wickets for 51); second innings, 131 (Mayer took six wickets for 31). Warwick, first innings 315 (Kilner 102, Wyatt 90). Warwick won by an innings and 33 runs.
Derbyshire v. Yorkshire. —Derbyshire, first innings 51 (Verity took six wickets for 12); second innings 78 (Verity took six wickets for 41 and Macaulay four wickets for 29). Yorkshire, first innings 96 (Townsend took six wfckets for 38_) ; ond innings, four wickets for 35. Vorkshire won by six wickets.
Kent v. 'Somerset. —Kent, first innings 205; second innings, 122 (Wellard took four wickets for 40). Somerset, first innings, 165 (Freeman took five wickets for 37); second innings, 110 (Freeman took four wickets for 40,' and Wright four wickets for 26). Kent won by 52 runs.
: Nottingham v. Leicester. —Nottingham, first innings, 238 (Carr 87, Astill took-flve wickets for 60); second in-nings-231 (Voce, not out 71, Smith took seven wickets for 55). Leicester, first innings 190 (Gunn took four wickets for 24); second innings, four wickets for 111. Nottingham won on the first innings.
Glamorgan v. Sussex.— Glamorgan, first innings, 223, second innings 290 (Turnbull 64). Sussex, first Innings eight wickets for 304 declared (John Langridge 140); second innings, no wickets for 36. Sussex won on the first innings.
Woroester v. Oxford. —Worcester, first innings nine wickets for 467 declared (Walters 66, Wright 65, Nichol 64) ; second innings, 2 wickets for 139 declared. Oxford, first innings 383 (Townsend 133); second innings, three wickets for 92. The match was drawn.
