THE “YES" MAJORITY,
VALIDITY OF POLL CHALLENGED

The “ yes " majority in the referendum poll on the Upper House Reform question lias been increased to 23774. Figures now stand: —• Yes • • 656,604 No 632,830 The Labour Daily says: “ Acting on behalf of interested parties, whose names thus far have not been disclosed, Mr J. Thom, solicitor, willappear in the Equity Court, probably on Thursday, to seek an Injunction to restrain the Cabinet from laying the Upper House Reform Bill bofore the State Governor for the purpose of obtaining Royal assent. The chief grounds of the challenge to the validity of the Bill are that •the referendum was not conducted according to law, and the Bill was not submitted to the eleotors before the poll." ■
