BUSINESS SATISFACTORY.

Business on the Stock Exchange continues’ satisfactory, and a good number of sales has been put through since the last report. There 1b a slight suggestion of an easier tone in Government stooks, and a parcel of 4 per cents changed hands this morning, 5s cheaper at £IOO ss. Subsequently there were buyers at from £IOO to £IOO 5s for 4 per cents, according to the maturity dates, and at £99 10s for 3i per cents. , Colonial Sugars confirmed their latest strength witty a.rate, of, £s6,< a new high level. In the banking seotion a buyer came in for Nationals at £3 10s, and bidders for Unions raised their offer to £7 11s.
Guarantee Corporation shares were In demand at ss.
Quotations ex div. were:—Taupirl Coals, with buyers, at 13s; New Zealand Newspapers, sellers at £1 5s Gd. Burns-Philp, sellers at £2 10s. New Zealand Paper Mills were asked for at £1 5s 9d, '
