NGAHINAPOURI NOTES
CHINA AFTERNOON
On Thursday last Mrs Seifert gave a “china afternoon” in honour of Miss Gwen Reid, who is shortly to be married. Competitions and .clock golf occupied the afternoon and nometime came all too soon.
KITCHEN EVENING
The hall was packed to its utmost on Friday night, when the residents of the district gave a kitchen evening for Miss G. Reid and Mr E. O’Regan. Prior to supper being served Mr J. J. Ryburn called Miss Reid to accept the huge pile of useful -looking parcels. Mr E. O’Regan, in a neat speech, suitably replied. Mr N. Reid also
said a few words on behalf of his daughter Gwen, thanking Mr Ryburn for hip remarks and the people for giving her such an evening. All then joined in singing “For they arc jolly good fellows.”. After supper dancing was again indulged in, till midnight brought to a close a very happy time.
