The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited, report:— At our Ohinewai stock sale cattle were yarded In good numbers. Competition, for beef and store cattle was not brisk and late rates were barely maintained. A good yarding of dairy cattle was not keenly sought after. Quotations: Fat lambs, 10s; light fat steers, £3 7s 6d; prime fat cows, £3 to £3 6s; medium fat cows, £2 7s to £2 15s; medium fat heifers, 35s to £2 10s; light fat cows, 32s to 38s; killable cows, 25s to 30s; boner cows, 14s to 225; empty Hereford cows, 20s to 30s; mixed coloured steers, 38s to £2; two-year Shorthorn steers, 25s lo 325; two-year Jersey cross heifers, r.w.b., £2 5s to £2 13s; Jersey cross heifer calves, 17s 6d to 22s 6d; potter bulls, £2 to £2 15s; Jersey heifers, springers, £2 5s to £4 ss; V’ dairy cows, 30s to £2 10s.
