OTTAWA, May 15
A statement at a military banquet by Brigadier T. V. Anderson, that Canada’s military training should be on a conscription basis has created a furore. ,
“ It is not the policy of the Government," declared Sir G. 11. Perley, acting-Premier. Mr E. C. St. Pere (Liberal member for Montreal) declared, “An official who talks like that should be fired. “The statement is not governmental.” said Colonel La Fleche, the deputyMinister of Defence and president of the Canadian Legion.
