Constable H. Fowke, of Auokland, has been transferred to Hamilton.
Mr E. L.’Walton, of Ngatea, and Mr J. G. Cliff McCulloch, of Whakatane, are in Hamilton for the sitting of the No. 3 District Licensing Authority.
Mr F. Findlay left this morning for Whakatane, where he will judge the bread at the local show. He will visit Gisborne before returning home.
In continuation of his tour of the north the Minister of Employment, the Hon. A. Hamilton, arrived at Dargaville yesterday from Russell, via Kaikohe and Mang ( akahia Valley.
Mr C. J. Parlane, general manager of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., has returned from a visit to the Rotorua district, where he addressed suppliers’ meetings.
The Rev. D. M. Martin, who for four years has been Presbyterian minister at Kaitaia, has been appointed to the charge of Knox Church, Miramar, Wellington.
Mr Fritz Hart, director of the Melbourne Conservalorium of Music, who lias been visiting Honolulu, where he conducted the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra for a season, is a through passenger at Auckland on the Aorangi on his return to Australia.
Mr Spencley Fry, who has been transferred from the Otorohanga branch of the Bank of New Zealand, to the Iluntly branch, was farewelled by members of the Otorohanga Golf Club, and presented with a useful memento of his connection with the club.
Messrs. W. C. Debenham, W. W. Kaye, W. 11. Kydd, C. Lawrence, R. W, MacLaurin, 11. 11. McCullough, E. Masters, R. C. Russell (Auckland), J. Coates, N. Marthel, 11. P. Tooser (Wellington), C. E. Robertson (Lower llutt), G. Walker (Whangarei), ,T. Lister (Rotorua), J. Jameson (Masterton), C. Kirkley (Hastings), and A. White (Te Kuiti) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
Three naval officers arrived at Wellington by the Remuera yesterday to join the New Zealand division of the Royal Navy for three years. Paymas-ter-Lieutenant-Commander C. S. Blalr-Hickman and Commander R. P. Chapman are to join the Diomede, and Paymaster-Commander M. V. Drake is to join the Philomel.
There was a large and representative gathering of the staffs of the Otago Daily Times Company at Dunedin to wish bon voyage to the' manager (Mr W. Easton), who is to leave tills week on a visit to Great Britain. The editor, Mr J. Hutchison, handed Mr Easton, on behalf of those present, a Ros'lyn rug and smoking and shaving outfits, in addition to a handbag for Mrs Easton.
