The present form of women’s dress in China is said to be indecent. The sheathlike dresses which are all the rage just now are high of collar and come down to the instep, but they are so tight that one side of the skirt is always split—usually almost to the hip.' Leave one shelf without books, and on it arrange an array ,of little porcelain figures, or a pottery bowl or two, or some pieces of copper o: pewter. The result is sure to be pretty.
