EDUCATION AND ECONOMY.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—No doubt the Government ha 3 effected a large number of economies, but there is just one that appears t have been overlooked. There are approximately two months’ school holidays In .the year, and I understand that the school teachers are paid full time during these. Now, I do not know any other employees in any line of employment who receive these presents, and I am of the belief that during the present financial crisis the teachers would surely consent to accept at least half their remuneration during the vaoation periods if the matter were placed before them.—l am, etc., SUGGESTION.
