ITEMS OF INTEREST. ONE-DAY BOWLING TOURNEY. WON BY TE AROHA RINK. The Cambridge Bowling Club held a successful one-day tournament on Saturday in aid of the Cambridge Golf Club’s pavilion. Twelve teams competed, the winning rink being Barnes, Roach, Rosenfeldt and Kriskovich (Te Aroha). At the conclusion of play Mr T. H. Boyce, president of the Bowling Club, presented Dr. H. C. Tod, president of the Golf Club, with a cheque for £lO. SATURDAY’S GOLF. MEDAL MATCH. An 18-hole medal match was played at the Cambridge Golf links on Saturday in fine weather. The winner was W. Hewett, with a score of 90— 10 74.. The next best cards were: L. n. Haworth, PS —11—77; A. J90 12—78; M. Keenan, 99—20 — iJ, C. Haworth, 94 —14—80. Ladles’ Club. MATCH WITH NGARUAWAHIA. The Leamington Ladies’ Hookey Club received a visit from a team from Ngaruawahia on Saturday, and an interesting match was played. The visitors won by 2 goals to 1. WAIKATO HOUNDS. MEET AT BRUNTWOOD. A representative field of between 70 and* 80 keen hunting. men and women met the Master, Mr Wynn Brown, with 144 couple of hounds, when the Waikato Hunt held its meet at Bruntwood factory on Saturday. Hares were plentiful, but in the early part of the 'afternoon scent was bad. Scent improved later and a great run was provided for about live miles and a kill was registered. Hunting was over the properties of Messrs S. Holmes, Discombe, Charlton and Stokes and the Broadmeadows country.
