CREATION OF DIOCESE URGED

WHANGAREI, Saturday
A resolution xvas carried unanimously at a representative gathering of leaders of the Maori portion of the Anglican Church throughout the North Auckland district, expressing gratification at the appointment of a commission to find out what steps should be taken to bring the Maori work in the north into compact unity by the creation of a Maori diocese, or in any other way. The opinion was expressed that the end could be achieved only by the creation of a Maori diocese.
