Business on 'the Stock Exchange opened quietly this morning, and bidding was mainly confined to a rc-stato-ment of the week-end quotations. Government stocks were again in request,‘with buyers for 4 per cent, bonds at from £IOO, for 5 per cents to £IOO 10s, and for slocks from par to £IOO ss, according to maturity dates. For 3} per cents £99 10s was available for all dates. The only parcol offering was one of 4 per coni, slock (1940), for which £IOO 15s was asked. In Ihc insurance section a slighlly easier tone was again noticeable. Nationals were quoted ex dlv., with buyers at lOs 3d. Grand Junction had fresh business 4s, with more wanted.
