Colonel Albert W. T. Orsborne has been appointed chief secretary in New Zealand.

Members of the Hamilton Canoe Club assembled at the Frankton station on Friday night to farewell one of their most popular club-mates, Mr IF. Staveley, who was leaving for Christchurch. Prior to the departure of the train, the presentation of a travelling rug was made to Mr Staveley by the secretary of the Club, Mr R. Hill, who paid a tribute to the departing member for his good work for the club, 'fho recipient suitably replied.
