BOROUGH COUNCIL.
CONCLUDING MEETING. FELICITATIONS VOICED. “I have to thank councillors tor their co-operation and for the times when they did not co-operate. That Is all I can say,” said the Mayor (Dr. F. D. Pinfold) at the final meeting last evening of the Hamilton Borough Council as at present constituted. ‘T thank you on behalf of the councillors, for the way you have treated us and interpreted the Standing Orders and brought to a happy conclusion meetings that otherwise might have been ones to the contrary,” replied the DeputyMayor (Mr A. J. Denz). “Those of us who are away from home a good part of the time realise what it means to have business conducted cfflcionlly and promptly—it allows us more time to enjoy our firesides.”
“Your remarks were appropriate, sir,” staled Or. C. Lafferty. “The suggestion of difference was not as men, but as to policy. One cannot hope to be always in the majority.”
