ITEMS OF INTEREST. badminton. ST. ANDREW’S CLUB. (Special to Times.) - The annual meeting of St. Andrew s Badminton Club was held last evenind, the vicar, the Rev. G. Gordon Bell presiding over a good attendance. The club had experienced a very successful season, with a membership Of 30. ' • The election of officers resulted: — President, the Vicar; secretary and treasurer, Mr 0. V. Simpson; committee, Misses N. Armstrong, J. Hulme, D. Neely, Messrs C. Haworth, H. Neely, R. Wallis; club captain, Mr C. Haworth. The secretary’s action in applying for affiliation to the Waikato subassociation was approved. - The balance-sheet showed that although the past season had been very successful a debit of 4s Id had resulted. Tuesday, May 2, was decided on as opening night. FOOTBALL. SEVEN-A-SIDE ' TOURNAMENT. The draw for the seven-a-side tournament to be conducted by the Cambridge Rugby Union on Saturday, Is. as follows:- —Seniors: Hautapu B v. Northern B, 2.35 p.m. (C. Wallace); United, v. Northern A, 1.35 (H. Carter); Leamington v. Hautapu A, ,2.15 (E. .Scott). Semi-flnals: 2.55 p.m., winners of United v. Northern A, v. winners of Leamington v. Hautapu A (J. .Wilkinson). McDonald). ONE-DAY BOWLING TOURNEY. PROCEEDS FOR GOLF CLUB. - The Cambridge Bowling Club has decided to hold a one-day ' open tournament-next Wednesday, May 3. Accommodation will be available for 30 teams,' and the net proceeds are lo be donated to the Cambridge Golf Club, which recently sustained the loss of its club-house by fire. Trophies have been donated by Dr. IT. C. Tod, a vice-president of the Bowling Club and president of the Golf Club. , . EX-SERVICEMEN’S AFFAIRS. BENEFIT PICTURE. The benefit picture screened at the Town-' Hall on Anzao Night drew a large attendance, and as the result the Cambridge ex-Servicemen’s Association will benefit to the extent of £23. '
