Powers of Rabbit Board. — At * meeting of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society last evening, members’ attention was drawn to an advertisement issued by the Geiltral Waikato Rabbit Board and notifying its ratepayers that shooting and rabbit trapping in its district was prohibited; also that anyone Interfering with the policy of the board would be prosecuted. Much discussion took place on the matter, the question being asked whether a local rabbit board could over-ride the terms of a licence which was Issued hy the Minister. The president said legal opinion was being obtained.
