Land Ballot.— Only Iwo of nine applications for sections offered by ballot, by the Auckland Land Board were succcsful yesterday, while of the nine sections available no applications were received for three. The two sections which were allocated were one of 211 «o:*es. abouL nine miles from Cambridge. which was granted to Mr. ,1. Adainson, and a property of laC acres, six miles from Turua, which was obtained by Mr. .1. C. Gordon. The other sections ranged from 200 acres to 880 acres, and were situated near Otornhanga, To Kauwhata, Pukeatua, Xgaroma', Te Puke and Awakipi. No applications were received for the properties at Pukeatua, Te Puke and Awakino. All the properties were totally unimproved, with tlie exception of the section near Cambridge, which had been fenced and bore other minor improvements.
