DOOR FORCED WITH SPADE

CUPBOARDS & DRAWERS SEARCHED
A trail of forced drawers and cupboards and shattered locks was lefi by an intruder who paid a visit to Forest Lake School on Saturday night, The burglar found only six shillings in cash to compensate him for his efforts, but damage to the extent of about £3 resulted from his search for money. The burglary took place late on Saturday night and was discovered next morning by the school caretaker. To effect entrance the nocturnal visitor broke the lock on the toolshed and selected a spade, with which he prised open the main door of the school building, splintering it badly in the process. The spade was found next morning, bent almost double. Once inside the school, the Intruder commenced a thorough search of cupboards and drawers, which he forced, A number of sports medals in an envelope, and a case of silver cups, fortunately escaped his attention, and, with the exception of cash amounting to six shillings, nothing was taken. It Is considered that the burglary was the work of an Individual rather than several. The cost of new locks and repairs will probably be in the vioinity of £3.
