YOUNG MAN IN OOURT^. REMANDED UNTIL MONDAY. AUCKLAND, Wednesday. On Monday Christopher Niven, aged 10 years, electrician, appeared in the police Court on a charge that at Mercer on April t i he attempted to murder James Pennington Bates, Counsel for accused said he would tike the rase to come before the Supreme Court at, I lie next sessions. If the evidence was not heard, until next Monday, however, it would be too late for accused to be tried at the forthcoming sessions.
Detective-Sergeant, McHugh said the police could not be ready to proceed before Monday. The man who was shot, was seriously ill. The remand was granted.
